Trudeau in Amritsar: Canadian Prime Minister presented with a classic from Kashi House
Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau's official visit to India with his family included a visit to the Golden Temple of Amritsar where they were presented with a Kashi House classic.
As part of their tour of the temple complex the Trudeaus were gifted a copy of our much-admired historical look-back at the temple through the ages The Golden Temple of Amritsar: Reflections of the Past (1808-1959).
Trudeau was clearly taken by the shrine and we hope he and his family enjoy the copy of possibly the greatest Sikh gift book ever created!
The Golden Temple of Amritsar: Reflections of the Past (1808-1959) is the perfect book to transport you to the spiritual, somewhat other-worldly, majesty of the Sikhs’ holiest shrine. From the earliest known paintings and photographs of the temple and its original surroundings up to the advent of the modern era it evokes a lost world - the rarefied but open-to-all culture of learning, hospitality and of course spiritual sustenance which epitomises core Sikh beliefs then and now.
The must-have for every Sikh household, which has also been gifted to the then British prime ministers David Cameron, is still available in limited numbers here.
