Royal Collection talk: 'The Man in the Tartan Turban'

Master storyteller John Keay unravels the Punjabi connection between an American adventurer and the son of Queen Victoria.

As part of the Royal Collection’s dazzling touring exhibition, ‘Splendours of the Subcontinent: A Prince’s Tour 1875–76’, John Keay talks about his latest book, The Tartan Turban: In Search of Alexander Gardner, which examines the connection between a mysterious warrior and the Prince of Wales's tour of India in the 1870s.

The talk will take place at The Queen's Gallery, Palace of Holyroodhouse, in Edinburgh on Thursday, 22 February 2018 at 1pm.
