‘The greatest literary show on Earth’ to feature Davinder Toor’s in discussion with renowned historian William Dalrymple on Sikh art.

The sixth edition of JLF London will take place from the 14-16 June 2019 at the prestigious British Library. A global phenomenon, the festival has attracted almost 2,000 speakers and over a million attendees over the past decade.

Some of the world's greatest figures, including Oprah Winfrey, Amitabh Bachchan and Vikram Seth, have spoken in the past, mixing scintillating topics with thoughtful debate.

Featuring almost 40 sessions with over 90 speakers from a range of disciplines, genres and cultures, heavyweights this year include Pakistani cricketer Shahid Afridi, V&A Director and former Labour MP Tristram Hunt, Nobel Laureate Venki Ramakrishnan and acclaimed Bollywood actor Manisha Koirala.

Davinder will be in session on Sunday 16 June (1230-130pm) in conversation with historians William Dalrymple and Parmjit Singh to discuss his collection.

In what promises to be a sparkling discussion, they will explore the Sikh Empire through some of the art that made it one of the most lavish in the world at the time.

The event coincides with the re-release of Davinder's book In Pursuit of Empire: Treasures From the Toor Collection of Sikh Art, which showcases many of these spectacular objects.

Davinder, the world's leading private collector of Sikh artefacts, was the primary lender to our critically acclaimed and immensely popular Empire of the Sikhs exhibition – one of the highlights of last summer!
